How do I set up multiple users in Outlook Express?

Description
How to configure Outlook Express for multiple users

Answer
Open Outlook Express.
Click on Tools then Accounts....
Click the Add button on the top right of the dialog box, then choose Mail.

The Internet Connection Wizard will begin and ask for your name e.g. "Robert Wilmot". Enter this and click Next.

You will then be prompted for your email address, e.g. robert@wilmot.freeserve.co.uk and then click Next.

It then will ask for your Email server type and names. For Freeserve accounts the incoming mail server is a POP3 server (default). Its name is pop.Freeserve.net. The outgoing mail server name is smtp.Freeserve.net. Enter these in the boxes provided and click Next. If the new account you are setting up is not a Freeserve account, contact your Internet Provider (ISP) for these details.

You should then be prompted for your login name and password. For a Freeserve account, your login name is of the format nodename.Freeserve.co.UK e.g. Wilmot.Freeserve.co.UK . Click Next when done.

You are then prompted for a friendly name for this account. This can be anything you want, as it serves only to identify the account to you. An example would be "Roberts Email account". Click Next.

Finally, the wizard will ask you how you want to connect to the account. There are three options. The first option (Connect using my phone line) is the one you should choose.

You will be asked to select your modem, and click Next.

You will be prompted to choose the connection to use. Highlight the correct one (Usually Freeserve) then click Next and Finish.

To complete setting up the account, click Close.

To send mail using the account, within the message window, click File then Send Message using then the friendly name you chose (e.g. "Roberts Email Account"). To receive, in the mail Outlook Express window, click on Tools then Send and Receive then the friendly name for the account.
